1月15日，澳洲4发机群转移了攻击目标，开始对海峡要冲，霍洛岛基地发动攻击，不知道是澳洲战斗机部队与4发机群缺乏默契还是神马原因，扫场战斗机队仍然没有很好的完成先敌压制的任务，仅有两队不到30架闪电战斗机先于轰炸机进场，在空战中被击落15架，帝国也损失10多架战斗机，基本打成平手。
