至此，从43年4月中旬开始发动的吉尔伯特-马绍尔战役圆满拉下帷幕，盟军一路马不停蹄攻占了包括威克岛和瑙鲁岛在内的日军重兵把守的8个环礁，歼敌总数超过6w。当然盟军也付出了沉重的代价，在Ailinglaplap和威克岛的血战导致陆战一师和陆战三师各减员过半，短时间内失去了继续作战的能力，盟军的陆军，船只和飞机全部需要修整，为下一阶段的攻略任务做好准备。
