地面部队主要以第17军为首,包括第15师团、第40师团、第4近卫师团、第34师团为主力的近4000战力主攻,海军派出第1舰队、海航第26航空舰队作为支援。

8月1日,庞大的登陆舰队抵达新西兰北岛外海,登陆新西兰已经不是秘密,盟军显然也早有准备,据侦察北岛上的兵力有7-8万人,各型飞机数百架,是直接登陆奥克兰还是另作他图?或者绕道登陆防守薄弱的南岛?

为了减少登陆损失,蝗军决定先派遣2个旅团上岸占领港口,不过拥有铁路机动优势的盟军,在蝗军第一波登陆部队上岸后及时赶到了登陆场增援,蝗军第一天的攻击以失败告终,滩头的KB和MINIKB和盟军飞机大战2天,自损近30架,击落盟军各型飞机250架,加贺中雷一枚,震怒之下的天蝗命令主力部队第3天强行登陆发动攻击,至此顺利占领新西兰第一个滩头阵地----吉尔伯恩,胜利在向蝗军招手,毛利人自发组织各种慰问团夹道欢迎~~
