马来盟军毕竟是乌合之众，缺乏真正精锐的战斗部队，能让这么多鬼子折腾这么久，付出这么大代价已经不错了。如果趁KB流连于莫港，南方军主力困顿于狮城的这个时机加强了爪哇防务，战略上也是划算的。若能把日军在南洋拖到5月底，缺乏登陆加成的日军不论是登陆南太诸岛，还是登陆澳洲印度，都可能被阻止在滩头上，联合舰队为掩护登陆增加滞留时间和消耗，盟军的机会就大大增加了。
