真正令盟军大统领难以决断的是是否要在KB眼皮底下冒险登陆, G, x. {1 n/ u
8月31日,盟军两支舰队先后炮击马绍尔群岛中最后一个尚没有盟军登陆的主要岛屿Kwajalein Island ,正式拉开了盟军新一轮登陆战的序幕。
/ o3 h# I+ H' L" ^7 h- k在登陆发起前的最后一夜,已经感觉到大战气息的帝国大本营出动了包括KB和驻岛舰队的大部分舰队巡航在Kwajalein Island 西侧6格海域,企图威慑盟军部队,干扰盟军部队的行动,但是帝国大本营判断盟军运输船队将要增援的地点应该是罗伊-穆尔岛,完全没有预计到盟军的实际攻击目标。
( K0 L/ X4 q# Z6 X当时帝国舰队判断,KB的出现以及前几日雷击队的攻击已经足够威慑盟军登陆舰队裸奔登陆,因此在抛头露面一下之后选择了回港,以免长时间暴露在越来越猖獗的盟军潜艇面前。但是27大统领的胆略完全出乎本人的预料,大胆得近乎鲁莽,居然又裸奔登陆了。
( p6 z" K$ \0 _. V1 _( l当然,敢于裸奔登陆,27大统领还是有两把刷子的,盟军装备的APA和AKA以及专业化程度很高的各种登陆用船的卸载效率十分的高,仅仅一夜工夫,登陆船队上的部队已经全部上陆,令还在用42年的老眼光估计盟军行动的帝国参谋部大吃一惊。
