帝国在5月初相继解放斐济、萨摩亚之后,望眼浩瀚的南太平洋,有一个美丽的岛国仍然是受米英鬼畜等白种人的控制,美澳之间的输送线将仍然照常运作,这个美丽的岛国便是新西兰。) }5 T. [; X. k1 Y' D

) h+ A" G9 I) B, q' x新西兰原本乃毛利人的居住地,19世纪被英帝国抢占,北岛上的奥克兰和惠灵顿都是南太少有的深水良港,尤其是奥克兰还有宝贵的船坞,这对于在整个太平洋缺少船坞的蝗军来说具有极大的诱惑力~~,岛上的土著毛利人一直有反抗白种人控制的雄心,可惜无人支持,这次蝗军的到来和毛利人一拍即合~~因此大本营从5月初开始制定解放新西兰的代号——“8月风暴”的两栖登陆计划。5 y/ F$ l8 y5 s$ U1 |6 J" q/ F- a

' v2 Q3 c8 i% j/ a地面部队主要以第17军为首,包括第15师团、第40师团、第4近卫师团、第34师团为主力的近4000战力主攻,海军派出第1舰队、海航第26航空舰队作为支援。; `( m. c/ x7 S. F: W) [

蝗军在一番思虑后,毅然选择了登陆西南方向小城——吉尔伯恩

为了减少登陆损失,蝗军决定先派遣2个旅团上岸占领港口,不过拥有铁路机动优势的盟军,在蝗军第一波登陆部队上岸后及时赶到了登陆场增援,蝗军第一天的攻击以失败告终,滩头的KB和MINIKB和盟军飞机大战2天,自损近30架,击落盟军各型飞机250架,加贺中雷一枚,震怒之下的天蝗命令主力部队第3天强行登陆发动攻击,至此顺利占领新西兰第一个滩头阵地----吉尔伯恩,胜利在向蝗军招手,毛利人自发组织各种慰问团夹道欢迎~~
