0 N4 S3 [  r1 b  ~( F从8月26日盟军登陆波纳佩开始到9月15日日本撤离南鸟岛这20天时间里,在漫长的太平洋前线发生了两场短促的,有内在关联的战役。首先是盟军发起攻击的波纳佩登陆战,由于盟军的准备不足和日军的反应果决,最终战果是:盟军损失2个正规美军步兵团和3个美军坦克团,约一万人的地面部队,并在9月1日的炮击战中损失了2艘轻巡洋舰和一艘驱逐舰,同时在战役中损失了100多架飞机(主要损失发生在8月30日盟军的空中进攻和9月1日夜间的库塞伊炮击战中)。日军在波纳佩反登陆战中损失轻微,仅仅损失了微量的地面部队和约10架左右的飞机。

在超高空的较量中,日机可谓惨不忍睹,日军预研看来是一个高深的学问,如何在后期依靠预研缩短技术差距,仍然是天蝗们需要思考的重要问题。
